● Popular Meeting Spot in Umeda

Atrium Plaza in Osaka Umeda

Hi! I’m Kim. I came to Osaka on a Working Holiday just a month ago, and one of the things I was most excited about was experiencing a Japanese hot spring. So I asked Yeonwoo-chan, also on a Working Holiday from South Korea, to join me on a little wellness trip to Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park♪

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park is located near Osaka Metro Umeda Station, making it a perfect city escape in the heart of Osaka. Yeonwoo and I met at Atrium Plaza, a popular meeting spot on the 2nd floor of Osaka Station City. It’s an open-air atrium that feels bright and spacious.

From there, our Osaka onsen adventure began. Here’s my report on our day packed with summer treats like an infinity pool, poolside bar, natural hot springs, bedrock bath, and gourmet food!

●Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Overview

Let me introduce this amazing spa resort!

●【Report】 Highlights of Umekita Onsen REN

As we rode the escalator up to the 3rd floor of Grand Green Osaka South Building, a luxurious entrance appeared right in front of us.

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park

We purchased a 1-Day Passport at the front desk and received a wristband that also functions as a wallet for all payments inside. Everything is settled when you leave—totally seamless.
We then changed into loungewear in the locker room✨ The fabric felt soft on the skin, and the cute Japanese-style design immediately put us in a relaxed mood. The moment we put it on, we already felt like we were in full spa mode♪

①Floating Between Infinity & Indoor Pools

We headed straight to the popular outdoor heated infinity pool.

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Infinity Pool

The openness immediately surprised us—we almost forgot we were still in the middle of Umeda. The greenery of Umekita Park stretched out in front of us, with the Osaka skyline and Umeda Sky Building in view. Even in the cool evening breeze, the water stayed warm and comfortable, and we simply floated away in relaxation♪

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Infinity Pool at Night

During summer, the atmosphere transforms after sunset with “night pool” programming.
The pool is illuminated with colorful lighting, creating a refined night scene over Umekita. It offers a romantic, adults-only retreat in the heart of the city✨

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Indoor Pool & Poolside Bar

Inside, there is also an indoor pool (so the weather doesn’t matter) and a heated jacuzzi. The 25-meter pool is perfect if you want to actually swim a few laps and refresh your body, followed by sinking into the bubbly jacuzzi to unwind completely.

At the poolside bar, Yeonwoo and I toasted with “mix juice”, an Osaka favorite, and ginger ale♪ There’s something extra satisfying about cold drinks on a hot summer day.

They also offer original cocktails, beer, and a wide range of wellness drinks such as smoothies and protein cocktails.

②Wellness-inspired Lunch

It’s lunchtime after our swim! Restaurant Hakkoudou Suiren offers wellness-inspired “beauty dishes,” from post-sauna-style meals to a variety of health-focused gourmet options, designed around Japanese fermentation starter, koji.

Restaurant Hakkoudou Suiren at Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park

The menu is rich and varied, featuring fermented hot pots, vegan bowls, sushi, ramen, and more. We picked three dishes:

★ Osaka favorite Takoyaki: Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside—just the way I like it! I honestly couldn’t stop eating them.
★ Vegan Veggie Bowl: Packed with avocado and tofu, the natural flavors of the ingredients really stand out. Light, refreshing, and finished in no time.✨
★ Awaji Beef Burger Set: A thick, juicy patty with plenty of fresh vegetables and a nice kick of spice. Hearty, satisfying, and still surprisingly easy on the body.

Fresh, wholesome ingredients and reasonable prices (around ¥1,000–¥2,000) make it a very satisfying lunch—both delicious and healthy.

③Beauty Bath

After lunch, we headed to the spacious natural hot spring bath area.

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Hot Springs

This spacious hot springs in the middle of the city has a calm, Japanese-inspired atmosphere. The sodium-rich bath is known as a “Beauty Bath”, famous for leaving your skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Its high moisturizing effect helps warm your body deeply from the inside out◎

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Bedrock & Lavabath

The bedrock bath area can be enjoyed in loungewear, making it easy to relax with a partner, family, or friends.
After experiencing the six unique bedrock and lava bath zones, we felt completely refreshed—perfect for detoxing and washing away the light sweat♪ Highlights include the 12 STONES bedrock area, Himalayan salt rocks, and the “Sakurajima Caldera Lava” zone, which uses lava stones from Sakurajima, an active volcano in Kyushu.

④Beauty Zone

Umekita Onsen REN Wellbeing Park Beauty Zone

Anyone interested in skincare and beauty should definitely check out the Beauty Zone!
Among massages, beauty treatments, and more, my favorite part was the rental of the latest skincare devices. You can try trending items like an electronic facial and scalp brush or a head spa device, starting from just ¥100! It’s such a great service that lets beauty lovers easily try the latest tools.
