● The Pokémon Café♪

With Pikachu at Pokémon Café

你好! I’m Huang from Taiwan.
I’ve been a Pokémon fan since the time of Game Boys. After years of worshipping the most beloved gaming character, you might guess the level of my excitement when I got to visit the Pokémon Café for the first time.

Continuing from the last article about Pokémon Center Osaka DX, I will share with you and the fellow Pokémon fans what I saw at this Pokémon-themed café!

Pokémon Café (reservations only) is located adjacent to Pokémon Center Osaka DX on the 9th floor of Daimaru Shinsaibashi Department Store, which is directly connected underground with Osaka Metro’s Shinsaibashi Station (Exit 4).

I was thrilled to be welcomed by Pikachu in front of the Café, and my visit to the world of Pokémon began…♪

●Into the Pokémon World!

Inside the Pokémon Café in Shinsaibashi, Osaka

Pikachu was everywhere inside the café. And I mean EVERYWEHRE.
Pikachu posters on the walls, Pikachu plushies dining at a table, even the ceiling lights were designed like Monster Balls! I also found Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly towards the back of the café. I felt at ease, being immersed in the world of Pokémon.

●Chinese Lunch Sets, Pokémon Style

Because of its popularity, there is a 90-minute time limit at the café. It was a bit hard to choose from a great selection of Pokémon themed menu but I ordered right away to maximize my time.

The Pikachu Chinese Restaurant’s Set Menu featuring Pikachu’s Veggie-Meaty Ramen and Pancham Bun (3,300 incl. tax) sounded good to my empty stomach.

I was impressed, to say the least. Pikachu’s cute face floated on top of my ramen bowl–made with eggs, carrots, and seaweed, it was just like those elaborate Bento Box designs I’d seen online. Pancham-themed dim sum was high quality, too. And the thick, chewy noodles of the Veggie-Meaty Ramen served with various toppings in nice ramen broth created a nice, rich flavor. It was all tasty and exceeded my expectations!

To top off the experience, I got a placemat and a coaster with Pikachu design (wearing Chinese attire) on them☆彡 (They came free with my order of the Chinese-style set menu.)

●Pokémon Themed Food & Dessert Menus

There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try. I decided to reserve the Pikachu Plate for next visit. Or the Eevee Plate…or Snorlax’s Tummy Filling Nap Lunch Plate… Agh! It’s just hard to decide when everything looks tasty and filling.

For little Pokémon fans, the Kids Plate includes a Pikachu Hamburger♪ By the way, a bunch of Pikachus are hiding in these Plates. Make sure to find them as you enjoy the food.

The Drink Menu was equally impressive and elaborate.
In Eevee’s milk tea, a financier is used as the tail. Gengar’s wicked smile is very much alive in the Gengar’s smoothie, with Confuse Ray actually glowing in the glass.
Mix Au Lait made with the nourishing Moomoo Milk is another one that piqued my interest (lol)

<A Selection from the Drink Menu>
Say Hello to Eevee’s Royal Milk Tea (1,298 yen incl. tax)
Coffee (hot or iced) with a Pikachu Tail Cookie (880 yen incl. tax)
Gengar’s Confuse Ray Smoothie (990 yen incl. tax)
Mix Au Lait Berry (1,100 yen incl. tax)

Pokémon Café's Pikachu Souffle Pancake with ”Choose Your Pokémon Latte”

After spending some time looking at the menu, I ordered a “Choose Your Pokémon Latte” (770 yen incl. tax). As you might guess from its name, you can choose from a wide selection of Pokémon characters to be drawn on your latte. I chose Eevee♪

And no, I didn’t forget to order a dessert.
I got myself Pokémon Café’s Pikachu Souffle Pancake (1,848 yen incl. tax)☆ The fluffy Pikachu shaped souffle pancake served with colorful fruits, cream, and a flaky pie in the shape of Pikachu’s tail was perfect for Instagram♪

I loved my special desserts. Needless to say, it didn’t take me long to finish it!
